A simple, mess-free homemade bread made entirely in a resealable bag. This quick bread has a golden crust and soft, airy crumb, perfect for sandwiches or sides. Requires minimal effort with a fun no-knead technique.
Ingredients
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 teaspoons sugar
- 1 packet (2.25 teaspoons) instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water (about 110°F/43°C)
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
Instructions
- Mix dry ingredients: Add 1 cup all-purpose flour, 3 teaspoons sugar, and 1 packet instant yeast to a large heavy-duty zip-top bag. Seal and shake thoroughly.
- Add liquids and combine: Pour in warm water and olive oil. Seal, remove air, and massage until ingredients come together.
- Add more flour and salt: Add 1 cup flour and 1 teaspoon salt. Seal again and squish, gradually adding remaining 1 cup flour until dough forms.
- Knead the dough: Press and fold the dough through the bag for 5 minutes.
- Let it rise: Loosely seal the bag and let rest in a warm spot for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Shape the loaf: Remove dough, shape into a loaf, and place in a greased 8×4-inch pan or on a baking sheet.
- Bake to perfection: Bake at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden and firm.
