These Orange Creamsicle Truffles are a sweet, bite-sized dessert that combines creamy white chocolate with refreshing orange flavor — perfect for parties, gifts, or anytime you want a citrus-sweet treat
Ingredients
- White chocolate (chopped or chips) — about 8 oz
- Heavy cream — 1/4 cup
- Orange zest — 1 tbsp
- Orange extract — 1/2 tsp (or more to taste)
- Powdered sugar — 1 cup (for coating)
- Orange food coloring — optional, for color
Instructions
1. Make the truffle base
• Place the white chocolate and heavy cream in a heat-proof bowl.
• Melt together either over a double boiler or in the microwave in short bursts, stirring until smooth.
2. Flavor the mixture
• Stir in the orange zest and orange extract.
• Add a few drops of orange food coloring if you want bright color.
3. Chill the ganache
• Cover the bowl and refrigerate for about 2–3 hours until firm enough to scoop and roll.
4. Shape into truffles
• Scoop out tablespoon-sized portions and roll into balls by hand.
• If the mixture becomes sticky, re-chill before shaping.
5. Coat in powdered sugar
• Roll each ball in powdered sugar until fully coated.
• For a thicker coating, do a second roll after the first layer settles.
6. Final chill
• Refrigerate the coated truffles for at least 30 minutes before serving, so the coating sets.
