Ingredients:
- 300g (2 cups) all-purpose flour
- 1 egg
- 45g (1/4 cup) granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- 7g dry yeast
- 140 ml (3/5 cup) hot milk
- 40 g (1/4 cup) softened butter
For the decoration:
- Whipped cream
- Chopped strawberries
- Granulated sugar
Preparation:
- In a medium bowl, combine sugar, yeast, and hot milk. Stir until the sugar and yeast are dissolved.
- Whisk the egg. Add the flour and salt, and begin kneading the dough with a spatula. Continue kneading with your hands until you achieve an elastic dough.
- Add the softened butter to the dough and knead until the butter is fully incorporated.
- Form the dough into a ball, cover with a tea towel or plastic wrap, and let it rise for an hour.
- Divide the dough into eight equal parts and shape each into a ball. Cover and let them rest for 30 minutes.
- Gently flatten each ball and then roll it back into a ball shape. Cover and let them rest for another 30 minutes.
- Fry the dough balls in hot oil over low heat for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Allow the fried dough balls to cool slightly, then cut them in half lengthwise, like burger buns.
- Garnish one half with whipped cream and chopped strawberries, then top with the other half. Sprinkle with granulated sugar and serve.
