Ingredients
- 175 milliliters of boiling water
- 1 teaspoon of salt
- 350 grams of grain (e.g., rice or quinoa)
- 20 milliliters of vegetable oil
- Half a bunch of onions, chopped
- Fresh greens, chopped
- 250 grams of minced beef
- Seasonings and additional salt to taste
- 30 milliliters of steaming water
Instructions
- Preparing the Dough:
- Add salt to a pot of boiling water and stir until dissolved.
- Gradually mix the flour with the salted water, kneading until the dough is soft and elastic. If the dough sticks to your hands, add more flour as needed.
- While kneading, gradually incorporate the vegetable oil. Let the dough rest for 20 minutes for a firmer texture.
- Preparing the Filling:
- Meanwhile, chop the greens and slice the onions.
- In a separate bowl, mix the minced beef with spices and salt to taste. Shape the mixture into small meatballs.
- Assembling the Dish:
- After the dough has rested, divide it in half and use a rolling pin to flatten each half into thin disks.
- Place a small amount of minced meat in the center of each dough disk. Fold the dough over the filling to form a ball or rectangle shape.
- Cooking:
- Add the meatballs to the boiling water in batches. Simmer, stirring occasionally, until fully cooked.
- Serving:
- Arrange the cooked meatballs on a serving platter and garnish with sliced onions and chopped greens.
