Ingredients:
| INGREDIENTS | AMOUNT |
|---|---|
| Bacon slices | 8 |
| Large eggs | 6 |
| Milk | 2 cups |
| Salt | 1 teaspoon |
| Black pepper | 1/2 teaspoon |
| Cubed day-old bread | 4 cups |
| Shredded cheddar cheese | 1 cup |
| Chopped green onions | 1/4 cup |
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
Set your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Cook the Bacon
Fry the 8 bacon slices in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp. Place them on paper towels to drain and crumble once cooled.
Step 3: Mix the Egg Base
In a large bowl, whisk together the 6 eggs, 2 cups of milk, salt, and black pepper.
Step 4: Soak the Bread
Stir the 4 cups of bread cubes into the egg mixture, making sure they’re evenly coated so they can absorb the liquid.
Step 5: Add the Mix-ins
Gently fold in the crumbled bacon, 1 cup of cheddar cheese, and the chopped green onions.
Step 6: Bake the Casserole
Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish. Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the center is firm and the top has browned lightly.
Step 7: Rest and Serve
Allow the casserole to cool briefly before cutting and serving.
