A sweet, nutty, melt-in-your-mouth Brazilian treat made with simple pantry ingredients.
Yield: Serves 12
Prep Time: 20 minutes
Allergens: Gluten, Peanuts, Tree Nuts
Ingredients
- 2 cups unsalted roasted peanuts
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- Pinch of salt
- ½ cup fine graham cracker crumbs
- 1–2 teaspoons water, as needed
Instructions
Place the peanuts, sugar, and a pinch of salt into a large food processor. Pulse until the mixture becomes very fine and sandy, stopping to scrape down the sides so everything blends evenly. The texture should hold together when pressed—if it crumbles, add 1 to 2 teaspoons of water, just enough to help it bind without forming a paste.
Add the graham cracker crumbs and pulse again briefly to combine.
To shape the candies, pack the mixture into a small round cookie cutter or any small mold, pressing firmly to compact it and create a smooth, level surface. Carefully lift the mold to release the candy. Repeat the process until all of the mixture is used.
Store the finished candies in an airtight container at room temperature. They keep their texture beautifully and make a perfect sweet bite any time of day.
