Cheesesteak Stuffed Garlic Bread

If you love a classic Philly cheesesteak and a warm, buttery loaf of garlic bread, this recipe brings the best of both worlds together. Tender beef, caramelized peppers and onions, and melted provolone are tucked inside a crusty Italian loaf for a hearty, crowd-pleasing meal or game-day snack. Simple to prepare and impossible to resist, it’s the kind of comfort food that disappears fast.

Ingredients

  • 1 large loaf Italian bread
  • 1 lb (450 g) thinly sliced beef
  • 1 cup sliced bell peppers (mixed colors)
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 2 cups shredded provolone cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Heat a large pan over medium-high heat and cook the sliced beef until browned. Transfer to a plate and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, sauté the bell peppers and onions until soft and lightly caramelized.
  4. Return the cooked beef to the pan and stir to combine. Remove from heat.
  5. Slice the Italian bread lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through.
  6. Gently hollow out some of the bread’s interior to create room for the filling.
  7. Spoon the beef, pepper, and onion mixture inside the loaf.
  8. Add the shredded provolone, pressing it into the filling so it melts evenly.
  9. Wrap the entire loaf tightly in foil and place it on a baking sheet.
  10. Bake for 15–20 minutes, or until the cheese is fully melted.
  11. Unwrap the foil and return the bread to the oven for 5 minutes to crisp the top.
  12. Let it cool slightly, slice, and serve warm.
