This Dorito Taco Salad is a delicious, easy-to-make dish that will have your taste buds doing backflips. It’s perfect for potlucks, parties, or as a tasty meal for lunch or dinner. Loaded with ground beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and Nacho Cheese Doritos, this salad delivers the perfect crunch and flavor.

Ingredients

  • 1 large bag Dorito Nacho Cheese Chips, broken into smaller pieces (but not crumbs)
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 packet taco seasoning
  • 1 red onion, diced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 head of lettuce, shredded
  • 6 tomatoes, chopped
  • ½ cup Italian dressing
  • 2 cups ranch dressing

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Beef:
    • In a skillet, crumble and brown the lean ground beef over medium heat.
    • Drain the excess fat from the pan once the beef is fully cooked.
  2. Season and Simmer:
    • Add the taco seasoning mix to the cooked beef.
    • Stir in the Italian and ranch dressings.
    • Simmer until the liquid is absorbed, ensuring the flavors meld together.
  3. Prepare the Vegetables:
    • Shred the lettuce and place it in a bowl.
    • Chop the tomatoes and place them in another bowl.
    • Dice the red onion and place it in a separate bowl.
  4. Combine the Ingredients:
    • Place the shredded cheese in a large bowl.
    • Instead of keeping the ingredients separate, you can mix everything together with the seasoned beef.

Serving Tips

  • For a customizable salad, keep the ingredients in separate bowls. This allows each person to add their desired toppings.
  • If there are leftovers, package the ingredients separately for easy storage in the refrigerator.
