Ingredients
- 230 ml warm milk
- 1 and 1/2 tablespoons sugar
- 2 teaspoons dry yeast (8g)
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla sugar (8g)
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 and 3/4 cups wheat flour (360g)
- 2 tablespoons butter, at room temperature
- Sugar and cinnamon for sprinkling
Instructions
- Mix the Dough:
- In a large bowl, combine the warm milk, sugar, dry yeast, egg, vanilla sugar, and salt. Stir until fully combined.
- Gradually add the wheat flour while stirring until a smooth dough forms. When the dough becomes too heavy to stir, knead it by hand until it reaches the right consistency.
- Let the Dough Rest:
- Form the dough into a ball and place it in a bowl. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let it rest for 30 minutes. The yeast will help the dough become light and fluffy.
- Shape the Rolls:
- After the dough has rested, lightly press it to expel any air bubbles. Divide the dough into twelve equal balls.
- Place the dough balls on a floured board and cover them with plastic wrap to prevent drying out.
- Prepare for Baking:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Roll out each dough ball into a disc. Make three parallel slashes in the middle of each disc with a knife.
- Place the prepared dough discs on a baking sheet, spacing them out to allow for expansion during baking.
- Bake to Perfection:
- Slide the baking sheet into the preheated oven. Bake the rolls for 15 to 20 minutes, or until they turn a beautiful golden brown.
- Keep an eye on them to ensure they don’t overbrown and remain moist and delicate.
- Add the Final Touch:
- Remove the rolls from the oven and dust them with a mixture of cinnamon and sugar. This final touch adds an extra layer of sweetness and warmth.
- Serve and Enjoy:
- Serve your freshly baked cinnamon rolls warm. These soft and aromatic treats are perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dessert. Gather your loved ones, brew a cup of tea or coffee, and enjoy each delicious bite.
These soft and scrumptious cinnamon rolls are sure to bring smiles and warmth to any occasion!
